Project RISE - Rewards and Incentives for School Educators is an innovative five
year initiative funded through a grant from the United States Department of
Education's Teacher Incentive Fund. Project RISE is designed to increase teacher
and administrator effectiveness in high-need schools through a combination of
incentives and support. In the final year of implementation, thirty-six (36)
high-need Miami-Dade County Public Schools are participating in this pilot
program. This comprehensive approach has resulted in increases in teacher and
administrator effectiveness and improvement in student achievement so that
increasing numbers of teachers and administrators in Project RISE schools
qualify for local and state performance-based compensation.
